Community Participation Guidelines - Netiquette for OUTSTAX users

Since you are communicating with people and not with machines and devices, rules of etiquette are necessary to avoid unpleasant consequences. OUTSTAX seeks to provide a secure and trustworthy platform for its users to be able to exchange, collaborate and engage with each other and share information and ideas. With the aim of providing a safe and positive community experience for all, Outstax has adopted this code of conduct and require all participants to agree and adhere to these Community Participation Guidelines.

It is Our conscious endeavour to review content flagged to Us by other Users and identify potentially violative content. Once identified as such, violative content can be removed from the Website and may also call for action against your account.

Community Rules

  1. Respect each other:
    Every user of the Website shall be treated with respect and dignity. We believe that every user has the inherent right to express his/her opinions and thoughts, but the same should not be at the expense of someone’s dignity or by causing harassment to anyone else. You will not engage in targeted personal attacks, disparagement or use of abusive language. You shall not do anything to disrupt other strings of conversations on the Website.
  2. Be helpful:
    Extend a helping hand to users who need support. Sharing of your knowledge and expertise on the Platform will not only aid someone else but will also enhance your concepts and skills. Users should encourage constructive criticism to enrich the knowledge sharing process.
  3. Celebrate diversity:
    Welcome opinions and participation from all communities and all walks of life. Let knowledge flow seamlessly amongst the fellow users, regardless of their background, ethnicity, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.
  4. Be compliant:
    You will strictly abide by the laws prevalent in India and shall not:
    1. share any photo or video on the Website, which you do not have the right to share;
    2. make hate groups or engage in hate speeches or incite violence in any manner whatsoever;
    3. do anything to disturb public peace and order;
    4. share any content which is misleading and deceptive;
    5. post content that promotes or encourages suicide or any type of self-injury;
    6. post content that may contribute to a risk of harm to the physical security of persons;
    7. use the Website to directly sell products or services, send bulk, unsolicited communications, or for any other spam-like behaviour.
    8. share any malicious software what would subject the users and the Platform to any risks; and
    9. post any content which excessively gruesome or is prohibited or restricted under any law for the time being in force.
  5. Maintain confidentiality:
    OUTSTAX is committed to respect the privacy of our users. Users shall not share any personal information, whether about themselves or others neither will anyone share any information on the Website, which is otherwise not in public domain.
  6. Messaging Matters:
    Please tag a subject/topic name to the topic of your message to enable readers to appreciate the content more fruitfully and respond more appropriately. The subject should preferably address common challenges which would encourage participation by the other members and benefit the entire community of users.   7. Responsibility
    You have a responsibility towards society and the Website offers a forum where you could make a difference to the world by spreading awareness against social evils and taboos, environmental issues, etc. During the interactions on the Website, if you realise that some user is exhibiting self-harm inflicting tendencies, you shall consider reporting the same to the enforcement authorities.
  8. Control
    While OUTSTAX is not responsible for the opinions posted on the Website, it reserves the right to remove the messages or posts which do not follow the aforementioned rules as well as to close accounts of users who habitually fail to comply with the rules.
  9. Settling of Disputes
    Disputes between users of the Website can be resolved directly between users. If you find any user has infringed on your intellectual property such as your photos and videos or your trademark and cannot resolve it amicably, then you could file a complaint for such infringement.
